Lay Offs

As you all know the lay off process began on December 19, 2024 beginning with the foundry. We expect more lay offs in the weeks to come as castings start running low in drum machining and orders are being filled in EPIC and Hubs. We ask that anyone who is called up to Human Resources demand that their Union Steward be present. This is your right and you cannot be denied that right. This is to help you better understand the process that is going on and answer any questions that you may have.

If you are laid off, you will be paid your regular weekly wages up until January 17, 2025 per WARN Letter. Your vacation pay will also be paid out (exact date has not been established).

Everyone is asking about the severance so here it is. The Union and Accuride negotiated a Tentative Severance package back in December. We are still waiting on the bankruptcy court to approve that tentative agreement. We are hoping for approval on January 9, 2025. Anyone that was laid off will receive the severance if the court approves.

Lastly, we understand that this is a stressful time and process for everyone. There is a lot of false information on the floor and assumptions. The Union is being provided very little information on what is going on with court proceedings and layoffs. We pass on what little information we are given. Please be patient with us, we are doing our best to get you factual information and clear up any issues that arise. Some of the issues require us to contact our International UAW Rep and Attorneys. This process can take minutes or even days to clear up.
